Warren County Hometown Pride
2020 Annual Report

Carlisle

Art Trail
Carlisle Hometown Pride partnered with the Carlisle Chamber of Commerce to have Iowa artist Kathleen Roling paint an "art trail" along the Summerset trail, from the trailhead to downtown Carlisle (1/3 mile). The goal of the art is to bring trail users to downtown Carlisle.

Downtown Park
In another partnership with the Chamber, Hometown Pride made improvements to the park downtown, including building a patio and seating wall. Furnishings, a water fountain, and planters will be added in 2021. Warren County Economic Development covered most of the expenses.

Veterans Memorial Partnership
When the North Park Veterans Memorial committee created a plan to update the memorial, Hometown Pride stepped in to cover part of the costs by securing a grant from Warren County Philanthropic Partnership, holding a Bingo night and other fundraising efforts. Our contributions funded the new flag poles.

Drive-by celebrations
As many community events had to cancel or change plans, Hometown Pride found a way to celebrate community milestones while being sensitive to safety precautions. They organized a car parade for the 2020 high school graduating class, and are serving a drive-thru holiday meal in conjunction with "Light Up Carlisle."

Caring for Others
CHP collected 900 items during its annual sock drive, and sent 51 pounds of candy to Operation Shoebox.
