Iowa Great Places Win

Indianola Hometown Pride led the successful effort to get Indianola designated as an "Iowa Great Place" this year. IGP is a competitive program, based on a rigorous application process, that recognizes Iowa communities that “cultivate the unique and authentic qualities of their local places.” Indianola is now eligible to apply for Iowa Great Places funding and can use the IGP name in its marketing.

Warren County Strong

Indianola Hometown Pride helped bring a bit of joy and community pride to the construction site on the town square. The group coordinated with organizations across the county to post banners that feature the great towns and organizations in Warren County.

Holiday Lanes

Hometown Pride helped neighbors organize and promote "holiday lanes" on their streets. Clusters of neighbors agreed to decorate their homes, resulting in 13 "lanes" of lights around Indianola, which were then promoted to the public as a city-wide tour of lights!

Indianola Organization Directory

HP created an online directory or all the non-profit organizations in Indianola, to encourage people to volunteer and support the organizations.

Yard of the Month

IHP continued their popular yard-of-the-month program, which gives awards for well-kept yards and holiday decor.
